Ohgod for Neil Patrick Harris in a heartbeat. Which works. Because...he's gay, so we're safe.

Then it would be B D Wong. Who's...also gay. ...huh, I'm noticing a pattern here.

Well... If I might reply to the original question , I'd have to say that... Coming out was a bit... Confusing and well hectic afterwords..

I'd always known my mom wouldn't have a problem with it because she was very open ... still when I sat on the couch and told her I was breaking out in a sweat

I'm one of those girls , who... You can't really tell I'm a skirt chaser... It's just not obvious when people meet me... I kind of like it that way though...

Mum says she had always had a sort of idea... but ...hmm? I have no idea how..

Well a girl at my school had actually asked me out and I didn't know what to do because, Of course no one knew I was a lesbian... I infact was a bit confused as to whether i should come out or not...

So me and my mom where sitting on the couch talking about the day and ... I lowered my head a bit..

" ummm... mom?"
" yes honey?"
"xxxxxx asked me out today.."
" xxxx who?"
"xxxxx..."
" girl or boy?"
"girl..."
"oh....OH!!"

lol and then we discussed that I liked girls....

This sounds strange, but I've always wanted to do a short comic with this sort of scenario. Isn't that little breath-holding nerve-wracking moment of acceptance worth a huge exhale and a relieved laugh, always?

my dad however was a different story... But I won't waste my time on that because he was drunk at the time and doesn't even remember it.. and I didn't notice... haha wasted words... thats kind of bitter... im sorry... haha Razz
My friends however just asked alot of questions I got a bit of grief from some guys at school but I'm a strong girl and smart on highheels and they can suck on the pointy tip of my inkpens and keep there opinions to themself... I respect there ideas ... But doesn't mean they have to talk to me bout em... ^_^ I'm rambeling... I'm gonna stop... haha ^_^

Honey, that is one awesome attitude. And I had to giggle at the smart-on-high-heels. Besides, if you're strong AND smart on high heels, imagine what a good kick can do. ...don't use violence kids, violence is bad.

...but it's a thought, you know. To amuse yourself.

And I think we can safely say, considering how the topic turned to doing Johnny Depp, that rambling is more than welcome here.

Haha ^_^ well thats okay at least its a somewhat healthy pattern

Is it strange? haha yes I was freaking out when I told her , and when it wa sover we hugged and she told me she loved me no matter what

hahaha... Bad influence... No Just Kidding... Razz I dont use voilence... violence is violent and I don't tend to like violent things , especially when they have violence in them.... >.> wow im so confused... I dont like using violence... THERE WE GO ^_^ Haha but aside my useless rambling lol Thank you

Well, I'm not lesbian. I fall in love with people and don't really see gender. And I was lucky enough to be raised in a community and family where homosexuality is pretty much accepted.
But alot of my friends are gay, lesbian, and bissexual. Smile

Re: Your coming out story

Post  Felicity on Fri Feb 27, 2009 10:05 pm

My Da may or may not know, I really have no idea, and my grandmother definitely DOES NOT know, and never will. Years ago, I was telling her about my school day like normal, and about this movie I watched in the GSA, about this man who did all these great things but was ignored and shunned because he was gay. Halfway through, she cut me off and said, "Well who would want to remember him? He's gay." That is the rudest thing that anyone has ever said to me, and I haven't forgiven her for it. (I have so many other problems with her, that there's no point in trying to resolve it anyway.)

I've only really "come out" to my Mum. I was talking with my sister about the GSA, and she was asking how many of the 16 members were actually gay or bisexual. So I told her, there were three: myself, one of my close friends, and another guy who dropped by once in a while. My Mum, from the kitchen, just said, "You like girls?" I said yes, and she just said, "Oh." I asked if she minded, and she said, "No, I don't care." I was so paranoid for the next few days, but she acted totally normal, so I figured she was fine with it.

That happened two or three years ago, before I finally came to terms with that fact that I'm asexual and bi-gendered (or non-gendered, or I don't know if there's even a word for it), so she doesn't know about that, because I only ever tell people things like this when the topic comes up and they ask. I don't talk about things like that with my Mum. Most of my friends know (and if they don't, then I'd tell them without thinking twice), because we're an awesome group with bisexual, gay, straight and transgendered people all come together. (I love my friends. <3)

Unfortunately, the more old fashioned of us will never see the light when it comes to homosexuality.

Your mom sounds interesting. "Oh. Okay!" XD

I guess that's how coming out should be. *nod*

Yeah, my Mum is so awesome when it comes to supporting me. I love her. <333

But the worst thing about what my grandma said is that she's always telling people how open-minded she is, and how much she's changed over the years to accept new things. But she hasn't. She still makes rude comments, not only about GLBT people, but about racial minorities and people of other religions. No

In my experience, when someone says they are open minded and don't act like it, what that means is they'd like to be but don't know how.
