Kate Beaton - Historical, autobiographical comics. Some of the FUNNIEST stuff online.
Evil Diva - ADORABLE. Amusing world, and great art. About a devil girl who is good.
Demon Eater - Very unique and creative story about a demon trying to get stronger.
Zombie Hunters - Great art and ZOMBIES.
Saint Claire - About a pregnant nun. Great crazy humour and beautiful art.
Gastrophobia - About a Amazon and her son. Good old fashioned adventure stories with really charming art.
Crowfeathers - Gorgeous art, unusual story about old America and angels.
Blip - She's someone god didn't see coming. Hilarity ensues!

Someone already mentioned Gunnerkrigg, and Yu+Me, so I shant! I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now.

Am I allowed to say I dislike these comics? Or is this just a what do you LIKE thread. Because I don't like those comics, I do not. Any comic that needs a comic to explain who everyone is because they all look alike is just ... And the writing ... And ... I'll shut up, I don't want to be negative but I do like spirited debate, and I'm sure you like them for good reasons! (Please explain. Because I honestly want to know what I'm missing.)

Well, for one, I think Gis is an AMAZING artist and I love her anime/archie comics hybrid style.

Two, The intricacy of the plot is really for the intelligent minded. And Gis's art did, over time, become more distinguishable, though at first yeah everyone sort of looked alike.

Three, I love high school drama.

Four, I don't know how you can hate the writing, it's super! It's amazing! I mean, it really makes you have to pay close attention to details. I really enjoy piecing everything together.

Five, I really relate to many of the characters.

Six, the characters are so well written that you can talk about them like they are real people. Trust me. I have.

I'll try not to be offended, but Penny and Aggie is my absolute favorite webcomic right now.

Also, Menage a 3 is not written by T. Campbell. it's written by Gis and a friend of hers. Nor does it have or need a comic explaining who the characters are so I'm not sure what you have against it.

AW, don't be offended! Feel free to not like on my favourite comics. Not like them!! I know it's just a personal taste thing. Like, I don't really like the style for some reason. Like I can acknowledge that it's beautiful and takes a lot of effort, but it just doesn't work for me. And that's for sure just a me thing.

I haven't read it in a while, but I have read it a lot in the past, and it might have gotten better. But the writing seemed a bit clunky and situation comedy to me. But I'm sure it's better now, getting into the meat of things! I'm not really sure what it is about it I don't like, so I was honestly curious about your thoughts.

Grayling A teensy bit homo, but what truly made me fall in love was the profound plot and stylistic drawing.
A Modest DestinyThough it may look like one, it's not one of those dumb gaming comics... mostly. It too has a very solid plot... oh wait. And there is a minor character that is a lesbian... DX I cannot get around it!!
Diesel Sweeties Okay man, I swear that I'm not that into pixel comics (I'm really not!) This is just soooo funny!
Nowhere Girl Very sad (and unfinished. D<) story about a lesbian girl... this is just... so well written!!

Urm... These wouldn't really be my favorite favorites (except for Grayling) but they're the first ones that come to my head. I'll post some more later.

I want to recommend this one. I've been reading it for only about a month now, so it's fairly new but very well done.

Well, of course, there's my own- Chaos and Order.
Otherwise, well, it's a hefty list...! (In no real order and probably missing a few.)

Girl Genius
The Challenges of Zona
Khaos Komix
Least I Could Do
Looking For Group
Questionable Content
Dominic Deegan
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Goblins
Flipside
Housepets
Evil Diva
Penny and Aggie
Candi
Yu+Me
I Was Kidnapped By Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space
Simply Sarah (of course xD)
The Phoenix Requiem
Inverloch (finished, but still a big favourite)
Twokinds
Earthsong
The Meek
The Dreamland Chronicles
Shadowgirls
The Dreamer
El Goonish Shive
Muse Academy
No Need For Bushido
Lint
Planet Karen
Weregeek
Count Your Sheep
Menage a 3
Sinfest
Red String
Xylia
Sister Claire
Something*Positive
Fun In Jammies

...I think they're the ones I check regularly. xD Quiiiite a list. Also very few "gay" orientated ones, because a lot of gay comics just feel... overdone. Like, Wires- it seems that every teen/young adult character is gay. x_x
Also, given the link, you'll excuse me not linking them all! xD

READ THIS PLEASE

Post  Guest on Mon Apr 27, 2009 10:17 pm

you all are probably gonna hate me for this but i'm gonna keep plugging Roy Duncan's The Villain Next Door because I think it's a great comic.
roy's been workin really hard on his comic, updating regularly(sometime twice in one day), doing fan art, doing crossovers/parody pages, doing the Villain's corner webcast each friday to promote other comics (last week he interviewed Amelius of Charby fame). He's actually really dedicated to getting promotion for all Druckduckers and their work. Anyways, I just love him, his comic, and how much he appreciates his readers. He wants to reach number 1 spot and i want to help him get there. So if you haven't already checked it out please visit his comic at:

http://www.drunkduck.com/Villian_Next_Door/

He's got great art, a lot of humor, an interesting story, and its easy for you to join the fun no matter what page you start reading at. Anyways thanks for reading this and if you visit roy's comic give him a comment why doncha.
cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers
