Art and writing and comic critique?

Post  tara on Sat Feb 07, 2009 9:06 pm

Do you think we could have a topic or something, where people post artistic endeveours (comics, stories) for others to constructively critique and give tips over? Or would people not be interested? Since we are not only a LGBT forum, but a comic book forum full of artistic people as well I would appreciate your opinions. Or can people find that kind of thing elsewhere; would it be superfluous? Or would we just encourage people to post things like that in the clubhouse??

Thoughts, thoughts?

I would be interested Smile
So how is this going to work? We put links to our stuff ourself and then ask for comments and stuff or?
Well here is something I would like comments on:

NaruSaku - Suicide
Its a Naruto Fanfic but I am really wondering 2 things, first off: I went for a sentimental tone with a hint of guilt mixed in, did I nail it? and is that themes that holds any interest to you(the reader)?
The other Q goes to anyone who are not familiar with the series: does the story hold any meaning if you dont know the Naruto Storyline and characters?

Good thing too as it have taken me till now to actually read it through for spelling errors:P
Well my sister did it, but that just means that it might actually not be a bunch of typos and spelling errors Very Happy

We should probably arrange a wait list so people don't come swarming in wanting reviews with out giving any. But I really like this idea. I just think we need to plan and organize a little bit better.

I agree, this is definetly a thread that could do with some organization, but till we actually have people wanting reviews this is not really a major consern is it?

For waitlist I was thinking something pretty primitive. Have one of the regulars maintain a post at the top that's just numbered 1,2,3, etc. and have it edited as new people are added to the list or move off of it.

So, now that we have "The Lounge" room, is that what we will be using it for (in part)?

I think the Lounge is meant to replace this thread in the way that you post your stuff there and people comment on it, that way it is easy to figure out just what piece of art is being discussed at all times, and it is easy to spot people who never contribute with comments of their own.

Yeah, that's what I was asking, I want to know for sure.

Rei: You're confused about the wait list or the second part? If it was the second part I was asking if you made The Lounge for use of what we're discussing in this forum.

If it was about the wait list... Ehh, just forget about it. We can try something else.

Okay. So more or less basically. We can worry about organization later. Maybe it will organize itself even... People are good at doing that to things in general. Like government.

I am totally new at using a forum, this being my first .I was under the impression that the Lounge Room was for posting art, comic pages, writings, and poems. To me this Forum is extensive already. Remember the focus is the LGBT comunity. I dont know how this new idea would work ie theory verus practice. Tommym
P.S. @Fly hue, I find that realy funny "like government"

it is.
The lounge was created after this thread, and it is meant to replace this thread, so if you want to showcase some of your work and/or want comments etc on them you now post them in the lounge where your friendly co-posters will be commenting, praising etc.
Hope that cleared it out... or did I completely miss the point?

PS. Studies have shown that there are quite a few artists of different sorts in here so I think it will work nicely Very Happy
