Some Really Cool Art...

Post  JGray on Wed Mar 25, 2009 2:44 pm

Hey all. I wanted to show off some art not by me but by Keith W, the artist of Mysteries of the Arcana (my webcomic). Right now it is a vote incentive and can be seen by clicking here ( http://topwebcomics.com/vote/7721/default.aspx ). Be warned that by clicking there you're voting for the comic.

The image is our way of supporting the cause of gay marriage in the US. If you'd prefer not to vote, I'll be posting it tomorrow so everyone can see it.

That's a beautiful picture! <333 I'm just about to go to bed, but I've added your webcomic to my To Read list. It looks interesting. Surprised

That's an awesome picture, and I've favorited your comic! I'm a Tamora Pierce fan too, btw, her books are amazing!

Thank you, Emilyelizabethx.

Tamora Pierce is a huge influence on me. Alana the Lioness was the first, truly strong female character I ever read in a book. Whenever I write female characters, I try to keep her books in mind as role models.

May I ask where you favorited my comic? I like to keep track of what sites are being used. It helps me figure out how to do that whole marketing shtick.

I favorited it on your site, added it to my bookmarks.

I love the Song of the Lioness quartret! Whenever I read about 'strong' female characters, they seemed to be these barbie dolls, who were skinny, but had big boobs and were somehow really strong and flawless. Alanna was a real character, she wasn't two-dimensional. And the books dealed with the gritty stuff as well as the good stuff.

I also loved the Keladry (sp? been so long since I read them) series.

I still read it kinda. With new comics, I like to bookmark them, let them build up an archive, then read them, that way I'm more likely to check for updates because I'm more emotionally invested.

Emilyelizabethx, I loved the Protector of the Small (Keldry's series). The Trickster's Duology (about Alanna's daughter) are also fantastic. Thanks for reading MotA. I hope you stick with us.

Rei, I do that myself. Smile Keith and I have no intention to stop the comic, so there'll be plenty more to read down the line.
